Came in to hospital on Wednesday as planned, was started on Amoxicillin and Gentamycin. After being in for a week I got my needle out and was sent to the Western for my MRI scan. So now I'm back on my IV's, still in hospital and just playing a waiting game til they decide what to do with me :(
Will update when I have more info................

What a week that was :(
I was back at Gartnavel last Thursday to get started on IV's again. I'm on Ceftazadime 3g twice a day and Meropenem 2g 3 times a day. I was allowed home on the Friday as my chest wasn't too bad, my lung function was down a wee bit but they let me home any way.
On Monday, I had an appointment at the Western Infirmary for an ECG ultrasound on my heart, this test was part of my Transplant assesment. Everything was going well until they found a mass in one of the right chambers in my heart, I needed to swallow a probe so they could get a better picture from inside my stomach, not pleasant, it turns out that I have a blood clot in my heart :((explains the breathlessness and lower lung function) They admitted me so they could do some blood cultures and an MRI Scan, I was most unhappy, I thought I was only going to be there an hour at most, not getting kept in. On Tuesday I was to get the MRI scan but they couldnt do it as I have my gripper needle in for my IVs. Got back up to the ward and was told I was getting transfered to Gartnavel.
Saw the doc on Thursday and he said that they are sure I have a blood clot and a port infection but they arent taking it out as I really need it at the mo, my veins are murder. I'm giving myself blood thinning injections as well as finishing off my IV's, then goin back in to Gartnavel on Wednesday for a new/different lot of IV's, I think I've to get Amoxicyllin but I'll know more on Wednesday. They will give me another ultrasound and the MRI at a later date.
On a lighter note ;)
I'm goin to my sis-in-laws tonight for dinner, she's having an Indian night, but as I don't like Indian food, I'm getting chicken nuggets lol or chips n cheese ;)
Oh well, I'm off to do my afternoon IV's and get ready. ttfn

New House Guest
With the temperature dropping to -14 last night I decided that I'd better bring Fudge ( the rabbit ) into the house, poor wee mite has been outside during all the nasty weather, I know rabbits are meant to be outside and his hutch is stuffed to the gunnels with hay and straw to keep him warm but the poor wee thing has hardly had any drinking water for 2 weeks now, every time we fill a bottle for him its frozen within the hour. :( So today I went and bought one of those house hutches, it looks like a giant hamster cage, without the wheel lol. Fudge is now cosy toasty in Seonaids room, with a baby gate at the door to stop Benji from getting in, and hes not liking it one bit. He keeps going to the gate and whimpering but theres no way I'm letting him in for a look, not til he gets used to the new noises and smells :O Now I'll see if he makes as much noise as my neighbour says he does :( Auld witch, complaining about a rabbit jumping in his hutch, a dog barking you could maybe stop but a rabbit thumping :( grrrrrr we shall see humph !!!
I was back up at Gartnavel on Wednesday, the Docs have been talking about refering me for transplant for a wee while now and have decided that the time is now to start assessments. So I went up to get some tests done. I got an x-ray, ECG and Lung Functions done as well as the 6 minute fitness test, bloods and an MRSA screen, was glad Barry was with me to ask questions and answer any that couldnt (like what I was like after my liver/kidney op) I escaped getting blood gases taken, was too traumatised from getting the other bloods done lol, will have to get it done when I'm in for IV's in a couple of weeks, theres no escaping it :( I'm back up for a CT scan and ultrasounds on Tuesday, just waiting on my appointment for a bone can to come through. Then it's just a waiting game for results. Gordan also emailed Lisa about getting me some exercise regime to do :( the thought of it makes me sore lol I think I'm doing well enough going for a wee walk during the day but obviously not, will need to build myself up and try and put more weight on, thats my main bother at the moment, I think.
Oh well, I'm off to put my NG tube in and get ready for bed, ttfn folks x

Sh***y Post
Well, here I am, back again, had a wee break from blogging, again :(
So, I had a clinic appointment on 28th July and my weight was down again so I've been started on Megace along with my Olanzapine in the hope that the two will work together to get some meat on my wee bones ;)
Susan, one of the CF nurses came out 2 weeks later to flush my port and give me a quick once over, my weight was up to 50kgs (yeeha :) ) and my sats were 97%. seems the pills were working - until a week later, I got severe constipation :( no amount of sennacot, movicol, lactulose, or syrup of figs would help. I was in pain and starting to panic as I hadn't had a bowel movement for 3 days, my last resort before calling the CF nurses was a suppositry. Thank God for those wee bullets, it took me another 3 days of sennacot and dulcolax before I was back to normal.
I think my problem was the sheer amount of food I had started to eat since starting on my magic pills was just too much for my poor wee tummy :( That and the need to adjust my creon maybe.
But everything is back to normal now, hopefully I haven't lost much weight with my troubles, my appetite is back too so that must be a good thing ;)

BugJam23 - 17/19 July'09
We got off to a good start on Friday morning, leaving at 9:30 we expected to get there at just after 7 that night.
The drive down was no problem, we followed the SatNav because the last time we went down to Santa Pod we got lost;) We arrived at 5:45 and tried to find a camping spot - getting stuck in the mud ( did I mention it rained all the way down ) and needing to be pushed out of a mud hole ( thanx lads lol )
Finally settled into a camping spot, our first port of call was a welly stall ;) we changed into them there and then and then went to explore.
After some Southern Fried Chicken we went to explore the music tents, we found the Rockaoke tent ( karaoke with a live band ;) ) and stayed there as there was a bar in it and that saved my wee legs from getting too sore from tramping about in our wellies. At 11 I was too tired to stay out so we headed back to the camper. Barry pulled out the bed and fixed sleeping bag for me, I was sleeping for half past 11.
Woke up with a start, thanx to the guys in the tent in front of us - banging music is a good alarm call ;) Went for Breakfast and then had a nosy around some of the stalls before the entertainment began.
First we watched a young guy doing stunts on a bmx bike, then headed for lunch back at the camper, some tomato soup later, we headed to watch the monster trucks and the stunt motor cyclists, another nosy around the stalls took us to the jumble area,I had to drag Barry away or we would've been skint within 5 minutes lol.
Back to the camper for a wee nap, I was knackered with all the walking, then it was out again to the retro tent to see the ABBA tribute band, they were excellent, a wee wander 'round the fairground,( wasnt keen on any of the rides, dont like the sicky feeling lol ) and a hot dog later we headed back to the camper for the night, it was quarter to 12 by this time and we had had a long day and lots of walking had taken it's toll on me :(
Up again just after 9 thanx again to the disco tent;) we got ready to leave and drive home. The drive home was a good one, no traffic jams or hold ups and we only stopped twice, once for the loo and something to eat and once for fuel. Got home just after 5 on the Sunday night, unpacked the red devil.
House was empty as Seonaid had gone to work, but wee Benji was glad to see us :D
